The Story Behind fastIEP
fastIEP was created by Dr. Ned T. Sahin, a neuroscientist trained at MIT, Harvard, Williams College, and Oxford, who has dedicated his career to providing solutions that give educators clearer, more actionable data to support student growth.
Before founding fastIEP, Ned led innovative research in autism education—developing one of the earliest learning apps for Google Glass to help autistic students build communication skills. That project reinforced his belief that powerful technology should simplify teaching, not add complexity.
Pursuing this idea, Ned reached out to hundreds of SPED teachers and administrators. Across every conversation, the same issue emerged: districts had IEP software, but lacked reliable, real-time progress monitoring data—leaving leaders without visibility and teachers without support.
Ned invented fastIEP to close that gap.
Today, fastIEP gives districts better data, better visibility, and better outcomes by making progress monitoring fast, accurate, and easy for teachers—while giving administrators the transparency they’ve never had before.
I've seen teachers leave the profession they love because of paperwork. fastIEP exists to give them their time back—so they can focus on what really matters: their students.
